Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:19
The goal of the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church is to provide music which honors God in worship, which is useful for the building up and encouragement of the fellowship of believers, and which supports all of the programs, activities, ministries and outreaches of the church.
Along with our voices, we can use all manner of instruments to produce beautiful music to praise the Lord. In our modern worship services many different instruments are used ranging from piano and organ, to keyboards, guitars, drums and even full orchestras. We teach our children using pianos, auto harps and rhythm band instruments such as recorders, rhythm sticks, cymbals, triangles, wood blocks, tone blocks and melody bells. We also teach music using our hand chimes and hand bells. We can use quite a variety of instruments to make musical melodies and harmonies to enhance our worship experiences.
I am so thrilled at the way all of our choirs and bells groups are going. From 3 years old up to our senior adults, we have around 150 people involved in our music ministry. I especially appreciate all of the volunteer leaders who work with our children on Wednesday nights. As we sing, ring, play and make music unto the Lord, may our hearts always rejoice in His praise!
Praising His name!
Robert
