STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

As of today, Thursday, January 31, it has been 31 days since we changed years.  We went from 2011 AD to 2012 AD (Anno Domini – when translated means, “In the year of our Lord”). It amazes me that many people don’t give much thought as to why we use the initials BC (Before Christ) and AD. I find it even more interesting that even those who claim to be agnostic or atheists acknowledge them.

Every time we write the date, it is a reminder that every year is “the year of our Lord.”  Also, this is a testimony that Jesus Christ is the most important and influential person in history. As we get to know Christ better through corporate Bible study (Sunday School) and worship and our personal daily Quiet Time, each day becomes one of great significance because, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

I am grateful for each day of every year God gives us to know Him and make Him known.

Your pastor and friend,
